Polaris Exhibition
During the Exhibition students were asked to fill out a worksheet called the art sandwich where they were asked to give a compliment, wish and then a compliment. They had to fill this out for at least two other fellow classmates artwork. After completing the worksheet the class returned to the classroom and we had circle time where every student shared one kiss about the artwork they wrote about:
" I liked this portrait because the warm colors reminded me of the sunshine." "I liked this portrait because the hair had a lot of texture and that made it look like hair." " I Liked this print because putting prints on top of each other made it look cool!" This is an example of one wish from one wish stated by a student about an ideation portrait from one of her classmates: " I wish the eyes were a little more almond shaped because it would look more like eyes." |
After discussing kisses and wishes we asked the students which lesson was their favorite and why, we got the following responses:
" The portrait lesson was my favorite because I learned about warm and cool colors and got to work with watercolor!" " My favorite lesson was the pipe cleaner because I liked building animals!" " I liked the stamp because I had never done it before and it was fun!" |
