Instruction and Management
Art is a subject that lends itself to differentiation in instruction that can be modified to create success, understanding and gfrowth for all types of learners. It is an area with several options, opportunities and ways of learning such cooperative learning, peer mentoring, creative problem solving and critical thinking. As a teacher I want students to be provided with a space where they feel comfortable, feel safe to learn and grow, take risks and find that making mistakes can be a positive learning experience through positive framing and respectful student teacher relationships. In order to achieve this type of learning environment effective engaging instruction and management is crucial.
The classroom should be a respectful community where students and teachers help each other learn and grow to their full potential. Relationships are a huge part of learning how to create effective instruction and a safe and inclusive learning environment. By developing these re;relationships I learn about students different learning styles and how to then frame my instruction to lead to success such as providing resources, presentations, one on one help, student help, types of wording I use. I can also help students make connections to further push ideas or help inspire and make accommodations.
