Rationale The example I have provided for conveying pedagogical expertise in art is my data analysis protocol assignment. In this document student work is evaluated is order to collect data to see students progress, understanding and how I as the teacher need to improve and change for students success. By evaluating students progress I open the door exploring new possibilities for learning for myself as an educator, I can practice skills in new ways that may help some students understand the concept and process much easier and improve their learning. In the art classroom mistakes are welcome and are the greatest way to learn when creating works of art. I want students to feel comfortable and make mistakes in order to learn and explore my hope is by me taking these risks, trying new methods and making mistakes in order to better teach students will feel that they can do this and it will lead to success. I want to do as much as I can to help students reach that "ah ha" moment of understanding and learning.
